Full Description:

GAC Training & Service Solutions has developed this two day oil terminal course focusing on the critical ship-shore interface between vessel and terminal. Designed to meet the needs of those involved in mangement and transfer of oil operations at the terminal, completion of the course will provide participants with a thorough understanding of the core principles, including knowledge of:

  •  Industry organisations which influence the ship and marine terminal operations – OCIMF, IMO, SIGTTO and IAPH
  •  Tanker construction and terminology used by ship’s staff
  •  Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  •  Pre-vessel arrival jetty inspections
  •  Safe management of the ship-shore interface
  •  Protection of the terminal from potential hazards associated with hydrocarbon transfers
  •  Identification of emergency situations and appropriate actions
  •  Management of the vessel’s non-cargo handling operations such as storing, bunkering and repairs, ensuring operations and ‘management of change’ situations are safely completed
  •  Accurate recording of events ensuring that the terminal can defend demurrage claims where necessary and correctly issue, receive and handle the NOP.

This course can be delivered at the NMCI or at the location of our client's choosing. This is a bespoke course for companies or groups of up to 20 delegates. Course dates are available upon request.
