Course Name:
Onboard Assessor Training course- Online Course
Course Price:
€1098.00
Short Description:
The Onboard Assessor Training course is an Instructor-led course that can be delivered remotely via video conference over 12 hours or face-to-face over 2 days.
Full Description:
GAC Training & Service Solutions has launched flexible on-line courses, open to both group and individual bookings, hosted by the Chevron Shipping Centre of Learning & Development in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Onboard Assessor Training course is an Instructor-led course that can be delivered remotely via video conference over 12 hours or face-to-face over 2 days. It covers the theory and practice of onboard assessment from both the Assessee’s and the Assessor’s perspectives. The course follows the syllabus of the IMO model course 1.30. The trainee is introduced to the 5 stages of Assessment – Planning, Briefing, Observation, Evaluation and Debriefing and a variety of practical techniques is evaluated to develop an understanding of how to effectively manage onboard assessments. An example onboard assessment task is completed by each attendee and individual feedback is given by the Instructor either in a one-to-one call (in the case of a remotely-delivered course) or in a group, peer-assessed debrief (for the face-to-face option).
Once the Attendee has returned to sea, an onboard assessment carried out on the vessel is documented and submitted to CoLD for review by an Instructor. Provided the submission meets the criteria requirements of the IMO model course, an Onboard Assessor Training certificate is then issued.
The course is designed for those Officers who are conducting assessment onboard. The course is open to any Officer of 2nd Officer/2nd Engineer rank or above (and includes ETO/AEO).
